Shawangunk Hearths Revisited 2010

 

Recollections of an Old Timer by Frank Mentz as told to Vera Seely.

These stories by Frank Mentz were originally published in the
 Citizen Herald in Walden in 1965 - 1970 and contained valuable information about the houses built in the 1700's and 1800's.

This reproduction will concentrate on the old houses detailing who built them, owned them and other interesting facts about the old houses of Wallkill and surrounding areas.

The Wallkill Public Library republished the collection of Frank Mentz stories in a book in 1974 and again in 2001.

The book is still available at the Wallkill Public Library in Wallkill and the Shawangunk Historical Society
